| Many visitors to central Florida choose to take a day away from the Walt Disney World area to enjoy the many fishing and recreational opportunities central Florida has to offer. Walt Disney World offers fishing charters for freshwater bass on its property but there is world class inshore saltwater fishing less than one hour away on Florida's east central coast. The best thing about saltwater flats fishing is the fish are much bigger and fight harder than local freshwater species. Redfish, our most popular fish, are commonly caught over 30 pounds. Catching redfish of any size on light tackle of fly is great fun. We also catch spotted seatrout, black drum, jacks, ladyfish, snook, and tarpon. I offer fishing charters in the Mosquito Lagoon and the Indian River Lagoon. These long thin bodies of water stretch between Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach near the Kennedy Space Center. In addition to the excellent fishing, you get to experience old Florida nature in unspoiled surroundings. Located inside the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, our fishing waters are some of the last undeveloped coastline in Florida. The shallow protected flats offer great fishing just minutes from the ramp. While on your fishing trip, you may see dolphins, manatees, alligators, and a variety of sea and wading birds that make their homes there. Walt Disney World, located near Orlando, Florida is the biggest attraction in the central Florida area. Disney is made up of several major theme parks including Disney's Magic Kingdom Park, Epocot Center, Disney Animal Kingdom Park, Disney Hollywood Studios, Disney Blizzard Beach, and Disney Typhoon Lagoon. There are thousands of hotel rooms in the Disney area as well as countless restaurants, shopping, and other attractions.
