| Captain Chris Myers is a full time flats fishing guide specializing in sight fishing the inshore saltwater lagoons of east central Florida. He has been fishing in the Mosquito Lagoon and Indian River Lagoon for over twenty years and spends most of his time targeting redfish, seatrout, black drum, and tarpon. When he is not on a fishing charter, you can often find him fishing the backcountry or inshore waters on his own or with friends. Fishing out of a 16 foot Hewes flats boat, Captain Chris prefers to pole the clear shallow flats of the Mosquito Lagoon and allow anglers to enjoy the thrill of sight fishing whenever conditions permit. Using fly or light tackle spinning gear, anglers have the chance to do battle with trophy sized fish year round The captain is fully licensed by the US Coast Guard and holds a permit required to guide inside the Canaveral National Seashore and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge. He is an active member in numerous professional organizations including the Florida Guides Association, the National Association of Charterboat Operators, the Federation of Fly Fishers Guides Association, and the Florida Outdoor Writers Association. When he is not on the water, you may find Captain Chris Myers giving seminars on fishing at tackle store, fly shops, or fishing shows. As a member of the DOA Fishing Lures Pro-Staff, he can be seen at shows throughout central Florida like the Florida Sportsman Fishing and Boating Expo, the Tampa Tribune Outdoors Expo, Fishstock, and more. He also offers regular seminars on flats fishing, fly fishing, and fly casting at Mosquito Creek Outdoors in Apopka. As one of the few Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructors and fly fishing guides in the Orlando area, Capt. Captain Chris believes in protecting this world class fishery we have here in central Florida known and the Mosquito Lagoon. To do his part, he has a strict catch, photograph and release policy. This is done to make sure there will be fish for others to enjoy in the future and to allow more fish to reach trophy size. He is a member of the Coastal Conservation Association and the Federation of Fly Fishers. Both of these organizations work towards improving our fishing resources.
